This allowed for EdgeChem's successful penetration into the high-end auto-refinishers market, while Akzo Nobel's products were marketed under its own brand - Sikkens. EdgeChem, based on customer feedback, then developed its own local brand of automotive refinishers - AUTOMEL & AUTOMEL SUPER. Our ability to adapt and provide client-based painting solutions has pushed EdgeChem to become one of the Caribbean's leading paint companies. Mellissa McHargh joined Edgechem in August 2005 as General Manager. Some of her academic achievements include a B.Sc. in Geology (1995) from the University of the West Indies, a M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia, UK (1999), Certification in Waste Management from Chalmers University (2004), Sweden and the Executive Education Programme in General Management from the Harvard Business School (2010).
With fifteen (15) years of management experience in both private and public sector, including holding the responsibility of Corporate Services, Planning and Research Director at The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA), Manager-Technical Services, Call Associates Consultancy Ltd, she now leads the vibrant management team of Edgechem Jamaica Limited.
Ms. Jackson joined Edgechem Jamaica in 1991, and is our Operations Manager. She is the holder of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Production/Operations Management obtained at the University of Technology and a Masters Degree in Business Administration obtained at the University of the West Indies.
Miss Paulette Waite brings a wealth of experience in accounting and general managerial activities to the team. She joined Edgechem Jamaica Limited in May 2010. She is the holder of a Bachelor in Business Administration majoring in Finance which she obtained at the University of Technology.
Mr Desporte joined Edgechem Jamaica Limited in 2009 from the West Indies Alumina Company where he held the position of Environmental Scientist and brings to us a wealth of experience in his field. Mr Desporte is a past student of Glenmuir High School from where he went on to the University of the West Indies. He is the holder of a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.
Mr Edwards is our Sales & Marketing Manager, who joined Edgechem Jamaica Limited in October 2010 and brings years of experience to the team. He is the holder of a Master in Business Administration obtained at the Barry University in Miami, Florida.
Mr Archer joined Edgechem Jamaica Limited in 1998 in the capacity of Technical Manager. He brings to us years of experience as it relates to technical skills and expertise. He is the holder of a Certificate in Marketing obtained at the College of Arts, Science and Technology now University of Technology.
An alumnus of the University of Technology Jamaica, Taneisha Campbell-Shettlewood earned a Bachelor in Business Administration with a Major in Finance and a Minor in International Business. Mrs. Campbell-Shettlewood joined the Edgechem Jamaica Limited team in October 2010 and holds the post of Inventory Manager/Cost Accountant.
Mrs. Buchanan joined Edgechem Jamaica Limited in October 2008 in the capacity of Human Resource Officer. She is the holder of a Bachelor in Business Administrator obtained at the Univeristy College of the Caribbean.
